TITLE: Principles for Resolving Church Conflicts

PROPOSITION: In this lesson we will look at six principles for resolving church conflicts as illustrated by a recent mission trip.

Objectives: That each member be informed regarding the mission trip and understand what was done to resolve conflicts and what lessons were learned.

Aim: To teach six fundamental principles for resolving church conflicts.

INTRODUCTION:

1. Read: Romans 12:8 “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

Sermon on the Plumbline – Tom Moore stresses God’s standard (His plumbline) as our rule or standard for our every word and action today.

A. We continue our study of the beatitudes which serve to introduce the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus

1. Together, the beatitudes teach us about faith – how to have faith and how to be a person of faith

a. The beginning of faith – poor in spirit / mourners / the meek

b. The growth of faith – hunger & thirst after righteousness

c. The maturing of faith begins with being merciful

TITLE: The Talents

PROPOSITION: To set forth the parable of the talents with its lessons.

OBJECTIVE: To help each of us to use our talents.

INTRODUCTION:

1. Read: Matthew 25:14-30.

2. Regarding the text:

1) The New Testament does not designate this as a parable.

2) In verse one we understand that these things spoken refer to the kingdom of heaven.

1. Ministers normally rank high in polls concerning people you can trust

2. People will often accept whatever a preacher, priest, or rabbi says as the truth

SUBJECT: Salvation

TITLE: Reconciliation (3)–“Be Ye Reconciled!”

PROPOSITION: In this lesson we will study God’s plan for man’s reconciliation– What God has done, what man must do, and what man must continue to do to be reconciled to God.

OBJECTIVE: That all who are not reconciled to God in the hearing of this sermon will become reconciled to him.

INTRODUCTION:

1. Read: 2 Cor. 5:20 “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

TITLE: The Widow and the Unjust Judge

PROPOSITION: To set forth an exposition of the parable Jesus told of “the widow and the unjust judge.”

OBJECTIVE: To encourage us to pray to God, with importunity, and never faint.

TITLE: Year of the Lord

PROPOSITION: In this study we will look at Isaiah 61:1-3 as understood through the person of Jesus and applied in the work of the church. We can make this year the year of the Lord by 1) Preaching the gospel to the lost. 2) Warning those who are erring. 3) Exhorting those who are faithful.

OBJECTIVES:Each hearer should be able to explain the significance of Isaiah 61:1-3 in relationship to the fulfillment in the messiah and the implementation of the church.

AIM:To encourage everyone to make this year, a year that is dedicated to the Lord by practicing the things we know will dedicate that year to the Lord.

INTRODUCTION:

The LORD is our strength because 1) He Hears, 2) He Protects, 3) He is Trustworthy, 4) He Saves. Each person should be able to understand how to gain strength from the LORD and to encourage each person to get their strength from the LORD.

In our confused, broken, and chaotic world, there are some fundamental things every person needs! Yes, they need each of these things. These things are not to be taken lightly or dismissed as trivial. They are basics of life.
