1 Timothy 2:8-15

A. There is an important need in our day and time to discuss the role of women in the church.

1. The denominational world has thrown off the limitation of biblical authority and have gone head-long into error concerning the proper role of women.

2. I have been in the Lord’s church long enough to know that whatever the denominationalists do will sooner or later appeal to some of our brethren.

3. I know of several “Churches of Christ” who have allowed women to occupy positions of authority over men in the church…

SUBJECT: Faith

TITLE: The Bible’s Basis For Faith

PROPOSITION: To teach that the faith of many is based on man’s idea of what faith is and what exactly faith is based on.

OBJECTIVE: That all may trust that the faith they have is based on a biblical foundation

1) Peter has the privilege of introducing the Gospel to the first Gentile audience, the household of Cornelius.

TITLE: Christian Contentment

PROPOSITION: In this lesson we will look at the subject of contentment. We want to look at what contentment is not and then look at what it is. Contentment is not conceit. Contentment is not laziness. Contentment is not being self-satisfied. Contentment is living within one’s means. Contentment is being happy regardless of one’s situation. Contentment is the peaceful self-assurance of salvation.

OBJECTIVES: Each hearer should be able to practice contentment, recognize when others are not content, and be able to discuss Christian contentment with others.

AIM: That each would understand more about contentment and be able to make application to their life.

1. The Kingdom of Judah had trusted in its idols for protection.

PROPOSITION:In this lesson we want to look at the question, “What is Christian Baptism?” We will note that Christian baptism is: 1) A burial in water. 2) An action of faith. 3) God’s work of righteousness.

OBJECTIVES:Everyone needs to be able to discuss what baptism is in relationship to the plan of salvation. Not many in the religious world today understand it. But it is part of the great commission and we must preach and teach it.

AIM: To encourage the brethren to teach others about Christian baptism.

SUBJECT: Passage

TITLE: FOLLOW ME, AND LEAVE THE DEAD TO BURY THEIR OWN DEAD

PROPOSITION: Jesus demands that we follow Him upon His terms, not ours.

OBJECTIVE: To help others understand this passage.
