INTRODUCTION:
A. In 2 Kings 18:1, a man by the name of Hezekiah became the 13th king of Judah.
1. Of his reign we are told – 2 Kings 18:3
2. Hezekiah was a great king, but he displayed weakness of character when the king of Babylon sent messengers…
a. These messengers came to congratulate Hezekiah upon his recovery from a very serious illness.
b. Hezekiah seems to have the idea that he must convince the king of Babylon, through his messengers, that he was indeed a mighty king.
INTRODUCTION:
1. We have all had the experience of missing something.
1) When we miss something we feel frustrated and/or mad
2) But, usually, we handle it pretty well…
a. If we miss the bus, we catch another one.
b. If we miss an appointment, we make another one.
c. If we miss a visitor, we go see him.
d. If we miss a phone call, they’ll probably call back.
Subject: Family
Title: The Bonds of Christian Family
Proposition: As Christians, we are bonded together as family because: 1) we have the same birth, 2) we have the same worth, 3) we have the same Father.
Objectives: Each hearer should be able to understand the bonds that tie us together as a Christian family.
Aim: To strengthen the bond between us as a Christian family.
SUBJECT: Character
TITLE: The Faithful Christian Man
PROPOSITION: To study the qualities of a faithful Christian man in the church, as a husband and as a father.
OBJECTIVE: To help all recognize the responsibilities that God has given to men, to help each man endeavor to carry out those responsibilities faithfully, and to help each woman realize the tremendous responsibilities men have so that they will be supportive.
