Sleep in on Sunday and miss Bible study and worship. Stay at home when we have out of town guests. Attend sporting or social event during the week and regularly neglect Bible study and worship. Talk to people about politics and not about the value of their soul. Wear themselves out working all day and […]

The Bible is silent concerning the existence of extraterrestrial life. Rather, it focuses on the earth as the only planet that contains any form of life. Since the Bible declares itself to be authoritative (2 Timothy 3:16), let us examine the following authoritative evidence to see if this is so (Acts 17:11): 1) In Genesis […]

There was once a little boy who told  his Grandma how everything was going wrong in his life such as his grades in school, his problems with friends, his mom and dad’s health

I once heard of a preacher who was asked, “What kind of a preacher are you?” He replied, “A good one!” I dare say that the person asking the question did not expect such an answer. The only drawback to such a reply is that different people have different standards of good preaching. One preacher, […]

I have become convinced that fewer of us study scripture as we should. Perhaps a few verses here and there. We love Psalms, because it speaks to our hearts. We read the New Testament centered on the Gospel. We also know the basics of the life of Jesus from his birth to his death and […]

I remember in my youth playing little league baseball. To play a game there had to be players, coaches, umpires, statisticians, groundskeepers, announcers, fans, even someone to clean up afterward. Everyone seemed to be happy to do their job, even if it was remembering to bring the bubblegum. There’s no game with just players. As […]

The following article was written by our former preacher, Brother Dan Gibson, who now resides in Conroe, Texas along with his faithful wife, Joy. His article encourages us to make wise decisions based upon God’s inspired word:

The predicted return of Halley’s Comet to our inner solar system in 2061, proves the orderliness of the universe. If there were no fixed set of laws governing the movement of all the celestial bodies in the universe, such predictions would be virtually impossible to make. We can also look at the orderly orbits of […]

When we wake up in the morning what do we do? Do we simply get out of bed, put on our suit, grab our car keys, and make our commute to work? Do we walk into the office a disheveled mess, looking as if we had just crawled out of bed – our hair wild, […]

The popularity of personal digital music players in recent years, has resulted in concerns about hearing loss. In fact, the design of the music players and their earphones has been the target of complaints and lawsuits. Long-term exposure to music at a high volume has been shown to cause serious hearing impairment. It’s a fact […]

From an MSNBC article by James Eng, Mr. Eng makes reference to The State of Homelessness In America 2012 report, issued by the National Alliance To End Homelessness. This report tells us that 643,067 people experienced homelessness in the United States on a given night in 2011. Homelessness is indeed a terrible state for anyone, […]

Isn’t it great that as God’s children, we don’t have to wait for a particular time or be in a certain location to pray to God? We can pray anywhere and at any time of the day or night.

Life is full of choices to make. There are things that everyone must choose to do or not to do (Joshua 24:15), places to decide to go or not to go (Genesis 13:8-12), people to acquaint yourself with (Romans 16:1-15) or to ignore (Romans 16:17; 2 John 1:10-11). All sorts of choices, and many of […]

In the parables of the prodigal (or lost) son in Luke 15:11-32, and the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31, we see a great contrast and a sobering lesson. While he was living here upon the earth, the

Our society has a saying that “power corrupts.” When man is authorized a certain amount of power, the temptation and tendency has always been to abuse that power or

Every one of us owes certain debts which Life demands that we pay. One of those debts is loyalty. We owe it to those who

The following poem by an unknown author, illustrates the necessity of doing our part in the Lord’s kingdom (Gal. 6:5). When everyone does their part without complaint, the Lord’s
