OBJECTIVE: To shame those in sin to repentance and encourage those who are faithful.
INTRODUCTION:
1. Read: Philippians 3:18-19.
2. Regarding the text
1) Walking is a figure of living.
2) Many, the vast and overwhelming majority.
3) Weeping, see the deep concern for all who are lost.
4) Enemies, but Jesus came to bring peace, Ephesians 2:14-18.
5) Their end is PERDITION!!!
6) Their god is their belly, their lusts.
7) Whose glory is their shame.
8) These people “mind earthly things.”

DISCUSSION: Let us consider …
I. The attitude of the transgressor.
1. Psalm 36:1-2.
2. “Their god is their belly.”
3. They “mind earthly things.”
4. They are covetous, Ephesians 5:5.
5. They are enemies of the cross of Christ, Proverbs 30:20.
II. Sinners pride.
1. 1 Corinthians 5:2 and 6.
2. Proverbs 16:18.
3. Mark 7:21-23.
4. 1 John 2:15-16.
5. 1 Corinthians 4:6.

III. New Testament Discipline.

CONCLUSION:
1. We have considered:
1) The attitude of the transgressor;
2) Sinners pride; and
3) New Testament discipline.
2. Some people are proud of their shameful deeds.
3. Some people are ashamed, but will not listen or repent, John 3:19.
4. Some people will not accept POSITIVE discipline.
5. Some people will not accept NEGATIVE discipline.
6. So, we must do all we can to save souls, Jude 1:22-23.
