What Are We Saved By?
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesThere is much confusion in the religious world as to the avenues of our salvation as described in the Bible. Through the use of a good concordance (this writer used Young’s Analytical Concordance), this confusion can be alleviated.
The following is a biblical list of “what we are saved by.” Although this is certainly not an exhaustive list, it does illustrate several avenues of our salvation.
1) Hope (Romans 8:24).
2) The Gospel (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2).
3) Grace Through Faith (Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:5,8).
4) Baptism (Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21).
5) Believing On The Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:30-31).
6) The Love Of The Truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
7) His (God’s) Mercy (Titus 3:5).
8) Our Faith (Luke 7:50; Luke 18:42).
9) Our Belief (Mark 16:16; Luke 8:12; Romans 10:9).
10) Christ’s Testimony (John 5:34).
11) The Lord (Acts 2:47).
12) The Preaching Of The Cross (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:18).
13) Confessing That God Raised Christ From The Dead (Romans 10:9).
14) The Power Of God (2 Timothy 1:8-9).
15) Being In The Body (church) Of Christ (Ephesians 5:23).
16) Enduring To The End (Matthew 10:22; Mark 13:13; cf. Revelation 2:10).
17) Entering In Through The Door (Christ – John 10:9).
18) Calling On The Name Of The Lord (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13).
19) His (Christ’s) Life (Romans 5:10).
20) Repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
21) Hearing The Gospel (Romans 10:13-14; Ephesians 1:13; 1 Timothy 4:16).
22) Water (1 Peter 3:20; cf. Genesis 7:7).
