DISCUSSION: When Peter heard this phrase he thought –

I.   ABOUT WHAT IT ACTUALLY SAID AND MEANT.

1. Emphatic construction in Greek, “the life this.”

2. Peter may have remembered Jesus words in John 14:6.

1) Clinical life, not the meaning.

2) Quality or realm is under consideration.

3) Aren’t there many ways of life?

4) How can God here refer to only one way, quality, realm or plane of life?

5) The answer is so simple it is frightening. (6) James 2:26; Isaiah 59:1-2; Jeremiah 6:16; 2 John 9-11; Ephesians 4:4-6 – there is only one way pleasing to God.

3. Peter, therefore, thought of spiritual life and the only way to obtain it – obey “all the words of this life.”

II.  “ALL THE WORDS.”

1. 2 Peter 1:3.

2. Jude 3.

3. Matthew 4:4.

6. Paul had all the words: Galatians 2:6; Acts 20:26.

7. 2 Peter 1:16.

III. SPEAK TO THE PEOPLE.

1. Christianity: taught and learned, John 6:44-45; Romans 10:10-15.

2. Mark 16:15-16.

3. 1 Corinthians 1:18-21.

3) SPEAK TO THE PEOPLE.

2. “All the words of this life.”
