Tidbits Of Wisdom
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesThis morning, I received the following tidbits of wisdom from one of my Christian friends via email. I’ve added appropriate Scriptures and article links:
- Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that we pull out when in trouble; it is a “steering wheel” that directs us in the right path throughout life.
- Have we ever wondered why a car’s windshield is so large and the rear view mirror is so small? Because our past is not as important as our future. So, let’s look ahead and move on (Philippians 3:13-14).
- Friendship is like a book. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
- All things in life are temporary (2 Corinthians 4:18). If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don’t worry, they can’t last long either.
- Old friends are like gold! New friends are diamonds! If we get a diamond, let’s not forget the gold! Because to hold a diamond, we always need a base of gold!
- Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, “Relax, it’s just a bend, not the end! (cf. Job 1-2; Job 42).
- When God solves our problems, we have faith in His abilities; when God doesn’t solve our problems He has faith in our abilities.
- A blind person once asked a wise man: “Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision.”
- When we pray for others, God listens to us and blesses them; and sometimes, when we are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for us (Acts 12:5; Philippians 1:1-4; Colossians 1:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:1-3.
- Worrying does not take away tomorrow‘s troubles; it takes away today’s peace (cf. Matthew 6:34; John 14:27; Ephesians 2:13-14; Philippians 4:6-7).
- Pray for love and peace to fill the coming years (Philippians 4:7; Colossians 3:15).
Brethren and friends, let’s think about the above tidbits of wisdom in light of Scripture!
