There's Always “Light At The End Of The Tunnel”
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles, uncategorizedHave we ever taken our car through an automatic car wash? The first time can be quite nerve-wracking. We put the required money into a provided slot, nervously check to make sure our windows are rolled up so water won‘t get in, and then align our car with the two tracks on the ground.
All of a sudden we feel a powerful pull, and then powers beyond our control start moving our car forward into a very dark tunnel. Suddenly, we see a thunderous rush of water, soap, and brushes hitting our car from all directions. We think, “What if I get stuck in here or the water crashes in?” Then suddenly, the waters cease. The car is given a blow-dry, and then is propelled into the light of the outside world, all clean and polished.
Similarly, do we not remember the stormy times in our life when it seemed that we were under powers seemingly beyond our control? (Ephesians 6:12). Let us note that whenever we pass through the watery tunnel of trials and tribulations, our Redeemer is still with us, always protecting us (Isaiah 43:1-2; Matthew 28:20).
Today, are we in the midst of an automatic car-wash, with all of the fears that we won’t make it through the dark tunnel into the light?
Let us put our trust in God to bring us “through“ (Psalm 91:1-9; Psalm 23:4), remembering there’s always “light at the end of the tunnel” (1 John 1:5-9).
