The Lord's Church Is Well When …..

Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles

The Lord’s church is “well” when it practices the following activities as outlined in Acts 2:41-47:

W-orship
E-vangelize
L-earn
L-ove

Worship — Members of the Lord’s church must meet together for fellowship, communion, prayer, and praise (Acts 2:42; Acts 2:47). The Lord is to be the focus of all we do in His church (Hebrews 12:2; Matthew 16:18).

Evangelize — As people obey the Lord’s conditions of salvation, the Lord will add new Christians to the church (Acts 2:41; Acts 2:47). As Christians, we can all take part in spreading God’s Word by developing a friendship, by giving someone an article about the gospel, sharing a gospel tract with someone, or by sharing some Scripture verses with a friend.

Learn — Christians must continue learning sound doctrine taught by qualified teachers (Acts 2:42). The Bible is filled with instruction for living, and we should take every opportunity to learn from it, apply it to our lives, and teach others (2 Timothy 2:15; James 1:22; 2 Timothy 2:1-2).

Love — We demonstrate our love when we share with whoever has need, and enjoy the fellowship of other Christians regularly (Acts 2:45-46; Romans 12:10; Hebrews 10:25).

A church whose members worship, evangelize, learn, and love will be a “well” church, effective in the community, and appreciated by “all the people” (Acts 2:47).
