The Benefits Of A Simple Smile In 2010
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesAs we begin this New Year – 2010, let us list some benefits of a simple smile from an unknown author:
A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that they can get along without it, and none is so poor but that they can be made rich by it.
A smile:
- Creates happiness in the home.
- Fosters good will in business.
- Is the countersign of friendship.
- Brings rest to the weary.
- Cheer to the discouraged.
- Sunshine to the sad.
- Nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Additionally, a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. When people are too tired to give us a smile, let’s resolve to give them one of ours, as none needs a smile so much as the one who has no more to give.
We never know when a simple smile might motivate an individual to render obedience to the saving gospel of Christ.
Brethren and friends, the world needs more smiles!
