Renewing Our Strength As Eagles Wings
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesIsaiah’s words about patiently waiting for the Lord in Isaiah 40:27-31, anticipate the future with confident hope. From our place of trial, we wait for an inheritance that is certain to come (1 Peter 1:3-8).
Knowing that our destiny is glorious – which is the sure hope of heaven, we’re able to pick up our pace here on earth. Though weary, through the gospel, we can renew the wings of our faith and fly! We can walk the path of obedience and not get tired. We can move through routine days and not grow weary. A better world is coming. This is our hope in Christ Jesus our Lord (Colossians 1:5).
In the meantime, what will be true one day can begin to be true now. We can be steadfast, patient, and joyful in spite of deep weariness; kind and calm, less focused on our frailty and fatigue; more concerned about others than we are about ourselves; ready to speak a loving word to those who are struggling. We can get ready now for the day our souls will take flight and forever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).
What a great thought of comfort and encouragement! (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
