INTRODUCTION:
A. In previous lessons we have noted:
1. As a new person (2 Cor. 5:17), the Christian enjoys a new identity, a new sense of who he is: he is one who has been born again.
2. He thus has a new relationship to God, a new status: he belongs to God
3. As a result, he has adopted a new mind, a new way of thinking: he thinks on the basis of faith

2. Paul teaches that Christ is first and superior to all others.
3. In discussing these things Paul uses the word “preeminence.”
4. Paul mentions for areas in which Christ is to be understood as “preeminent.” We’re talking about four areas where Christ is to be understood as first and superior to all others.

PROPOSITION: In this lesson we will compare and contrast the Passover lamb with Jesus as the lamb of God. We will notice that the lamb is 1) Sanctified — God’s lamb, 2) Sinless — Without blemish, 3) A Sacrifice, 4) Salvation.
OBJECTIVES: Each hearer should be able to understanding the significance of the Passover lamb and the typical relationship to Jesus our Messiah.
AIM: To help all understand why Jesus is the Lamb of God today.

What is your cross? The cross is not something pleasant. The cross is something difficult. Our society does not like to think about things that are not pleasant and difficult, but the truth is that life can be unpleasant and difficult at times. How are we going to confront those situations? Will we bravely take up our cross? Will we run away from the cross?

PROPOSITION: Jesus is the our Lord and Master. He says that as Lord and Master he became a servant of all.
OBJECTIVES: We should all think about how Jesus is our Lord and Master and how since he called himself a servant, that we should much more see ourselves as servants.
AIM: I want to impress upon each one the distinctive, yet complimentary roles as Lord, Master, and Servant within the person of Jesus.
