Our Fleshly Tabernacle
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles, uncategorizedThe following are some aspects of our fleshly tabernacle (body) that we as children of God should consider in our Christian walk:
- It was created by God (Genesis 2:7).
- It must be presented to God (Romans 12:1-2).
- It is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19).
- It is to glorify God (1 Corinthians 6:20).
- It should be exercised (1 Timothy 4:8).
- It should be disciplined and brought under subjection (1 Corinthians 9:27).
- It should be kept clean (Hebrews 10:22).
- It should avoid engaging in sin (Romans 6:11-13; 1 Corinthians 6:16-18; cf. Romans 1:24).
- It needs to be kept in check, if possible (James 3:2 NIV).
- It should magnify Christ (Philippians 1:20).
- It should be used in our Master’s service (2 Timothy 2:20-21; cf. Acts 9:15; 1 Corinthians 15:58).
- It will return to the dust (Genesis 3:19; Ecclesiastes 3:20).
- It will be resurrected and changed (Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 15:44,51-54; Philippians 3:20-21).
