His Precious And Exceedingly Great Promises
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles, uncategorizedFrom today’s Montana Street bulletin, comes the following article by Brother Joe Goodspeed, retired preacher for the Longmire congregation in Conroe, Texas.
In his article, he emphasizes the many precious and exceedingly great promises that we have from the Lord (2 Peter 1:4):
Glory to God for the precious promises of eternal life (John 3:16), the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19), Jesus being with us always (Matthew 28:20), and God’s living in us and walking with us (2 Corinthians 6:16).
At this time of year, let us meditate on some of the beautiful godly blessings alluded to and implied in the precious Word of our loving God. What joy this can bring to our souls!
- “The Lord watch between us and you, when we are absent one from another” (Genesis 31:49).
- “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:22-26).
- “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit” (Philemon 1:25).
- “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).
- “We pray that out of His glorious riches, He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being” (Ephesians 3:16).
- “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him….” (Romans 8:28).
- “….Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
- “We pray that all may go well with you and that (in all ways) you may be in good health” (3 John 2).
- “May the Lord stand by you and give you strength” (improvisation of 2 Timothy 4:17).
- “May the Lord bless you to fight a good fight, finish the course and keep the faith” (improvisation of 2 Timothy 4:7).
- “May the Lord supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (improvisation of Philippians 4:19).
May the Lord bless us all with the will to walk within His will, a happy relationship with our family and friends, and a peace with all men, especially with ourselves.
