2. Bible is full of proactive language
1) Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine!”

3) Matthew 22:37-39 Love God and neighbor.
4) Prayer is most proactive thing we can do! Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

II. Be Confident–Hebrews 13:6 “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Our confidence is in the Lord to help us, not ourselves!
1. The early church wanted boldness–Acts 4:29 “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word”
2. We have no reason to fear man–Matthew 10:28 “Fear not them that are . . . .”
3. God is our helper–Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
4. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengtheneth me!”
III. Be Humble
1. Humility prevents us from being over confident.
2. Passages on humility.
1) Luke 9:48 “. . .for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.”
2) Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
3) Hebrews 11:25 “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season”
3. John 13:4ff
