3) Matt. 22:37-39 Love God and neighbor.

4) Prayer is most proactive thing we can do! Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

3. Joseph

II.  Those of the Chosen Generation Must Be Confident

Hebrews 13:6 “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Our confidence is in the Lord to help us, not ourselves!

1. The early church wanted boldness–Acts 4:29 “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word”

2. We have no reason to fear man–Matt. 10:28 “Fear not them that are….”

3. God is our helper–Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

4. Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengtheneth me!”

5. Finally, Christian attitudes would have us to:

III. Those of the Chosen Generation Must Be Humble

1. Humility prevents us from being over confident.

2. Passages on humility.

1) Luke 9:48 “…for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.”

2) Matt. 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”

3) Heb. 11:25 “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season”

3. John 13:4ff
