Confession
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesConfessing the name of Christ before men is a necessity for our eternal salvation (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 4:15). However, this confession must be coupled with obedience to all of the will of God (Matthew 7:21; Hebrews 5:9).
- Matthew 10:32: “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.”
- Romans 10:9-10: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
- 1 John 4:15: “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.”
- Matthew 7:21: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
- Hebrews 5:9: “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”
