Comments On “Abortion By A Different Name”
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesOn Brother Wesley Walker’s blog this morning, I noticed his latest article entitled, “Abortion by a Different Name.”
As brother Wesley points out, “Another area where semantics is played, is in the discussion of abortion.”
Those folks who are pro-abortion advocates, are now calling abortion by a new name, “reduction.”
The following are comments that I posted on Facebook underneath brother Wesley’s posting of his article:
Little by little, our society is headed toward the same type of mindset as the society we read about in Genesis 6:5. Even the formation or the desire of their thoughts were evil “continually” (Heb. “every day”).
A contrasting solution to this problem is found in 2 Corinthians 10:5, where Paul tells us to “cast down” those evil imaginations [marginal reading, “reasonings”] and bring into captivity “every thought” to the obedience of Christ.
How we “think” is the key to how we act (cf. Matthew 15:15-20; James 3:8-18; James 4:1-4). The key to restoring morality into the fabric of our society again is to “think” on these things (Ephesians 4:8) and then “do” them (Ephesians 4:9).
And all of this begins with “me“!
Brethren and friends, we have to make a personal application and commitment to changing our mindset, aligning it with the mindset of Christ (Colossians 3:1-2; cf. Philippians 2:1-5; 1 Peter 4:1).
