Biblical Education And Its Importance
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesWhile secular education is certainly important, being educated biblically is far more important because biblical principles teach us how to properly relate to God as well as to our fellowman (Matthew 22:37-40; cf. Deuteronomy 6:5; Deuteronomy 10:12; Deuteronomy 30:6).
In addition, the teaching of spiritual and moral values to children is the backbone of any nation and provides nations with moral stability.
How important is biblical education? From a study of God’s Word, we see that when Israel rejected the knowledge of God, God rejected them (Hosea 4:1,6). Our country is well on its way to rejecting God (taking God’s teaching out of our homes, schools and government and replacing it with humanistic ideologies). Do we really believe that God will not reject our country as well?
Biblical instruction and education begins in the home (Ephesians 6:4; cf. Genesis 18:18-19; Deuteronomy 6; 2 Timothy 1:5; 2 Timothy 3:14-15). Other than our public schools, the only source of education many of our children receive in this country, comes from television, and the majority of that education is ungodly and perverted.

The future of our country rests on the biblical education our children receive (Psalm 33:12; Proverbs 14:34). May God help us as fathers to see that this great need is supplied before it is too late (Ephesians 6:4).
