Because We May Or Because We Must?

Most people resent and resist doing things they “have” to do, just because somebody else wants them to do them, yet nothing will keep a person from doing the things he “wants” to do and that which he believes ought to be done (Matthew 6:21).
This is why it is important that we see the purpose in what is demanded of us (Isaiah 43:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and why that purpose must be worthy enough to command our best (Matthew 5:13-16).
Power and authority may compel, but such things as honesty, goodness, purity, truth, and love invite (Philippians 4:8; 1 Corinthians 13).
The issues of life are invitations which we may accept or reject. These invitations, when accepted, can save us from ourselves and fulfill our destiny.
