Beautiful Feet

Women love shoes. Just look in their closets. It was discovered that Imelda Marcos, wife of the deposed dictator of the Philippines, had hundreds of pairs of shoes.
Shoes come in all shapes and for every occasion….six inch heels to strappy sandals. There are shoes for walking, running, hiking and even for the beach. They have yet to make shoes that help us walk on water!
The prophet Isaiah talks about feet (Isaiah 52:7 NIV), “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation….”
We will need special shoes for that mountain climbing.
Paul wrote to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:15 NIV) about preparing for his climb….”Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
Timothy had to prepare himself by the study of God’s Word.
Paul also wrote to the Ephesians 6:15 NIV about their feet….“and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
That’s our challenge. We are to read and study God’s word which will prepare us to bring peace to others though the only “Peace Giver”….Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:14; cf. Isaiah 9:6).
So enjoy your new shoes….and be prepared for some mountain climbing.
