A Call To Repent
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesFrom Christian Post writer Lillian Kwon, comes this article headline: “Southern Baptists Called to Repent, Grip Reality of ’Lostness.’”
Ronnie Floyd, chairman of the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force, says that Southern Baptists need to repent of their pride, boasting and disunity, and return to God and His vision.
Dr. Floyd states:
“We (task force) have been gripped by the reality of the lost condition of our world and about our condition as a denomination, but through this journey we have also been set on fire by the call of God to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Dr. Floyd believes many Southern Baptist churches today have developed “theological amnesia or theological Alzheimer’s disease” when it comes to lostness.
Dr. Floyd again states:
“I am convinced we have not only forgotten what it is like to be lost, but we act as if lostness does not exist, there is really no hell, and many times conduct ourselves as Universalists,” he said, as he reaffirmed Christ as the only way to salvation.
Brethren, as members of the body of Christ, if we are guilty of having the above mindset, we too should repent for our lack of concern about the reality that souls are lost in sin, repenting of any pride, boasting and disunity that exists, then return to God and His vision for teaching lost souls the saving gospel of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20-NKJV; Mark 16:15-16-NKJV).
Think about it!
