“Wanted”
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesThe following members of the Lord’s church are very much “Wanted”:
1) Members who are as interested in the church on Sunday and Wednesday night as they are on Sunday morning (Hebrews 10:25).
2) Members who are as liberal with their money as with their advice and criticism (II Corinthians 8:1-5).
3) Members who are willing to deny themselves in order to serve God (Matthew 16:24).
4) Members who love God more than pleasure (2 Timothy 3:4).
5) Members who are not only church members but also church workers (1 Thessalonians 1:3).
6) Members who are willing to let church work “interfere” with their own work and pleasure (1 Corinthians 15:58).
7) Members who are willing to spend at least half as much of their time studying their Bibles as they do watching television (2 Timothy 2:15).
8) Members who can be half as enthusiasic about a gospel meeting as about the World Series or the Super Bowl (Matthew 6:19-21).
9) Members who are as “anxious” to tell others the good news of the gospel as they are to tell them the latest gossip (Acts 20:24-27).
10) Members who are willing to practice in their lives what they say they believe in their hearts (1 Corinthians 4:16; 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Timothy 3:6-9).
11) Members who aspire to be leaders in the church purely for the good they can do for others, and the greater service they can render to God (Acts 20:28).
12) Members who can object to something without becoming objectionable, and who can disagree without becoming disagreeable (Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14).
Are you a “Member” of the church as described above? If so, you are very much “Wanted” (and needed) in the church today!
