Speaking as the Oracles of God

Introduction:
1. Acts 7:38, oracles are what Moses received.
2. Rom. 3:2, oracles of God are what was committed to the Jews.
3. Heb. 5:12, oracles contain 1st principles.
4. 1 Pet. 4:11 contains a limitation prescribed by God.
1) Direction must be direction of oracles.
2) Example must be example of oracles.
3) Speaking must be lined up with the oracles of God.
5. If we need a motto or rallying cry let this be it.
Discussion:
I. How are we to speak?
1. As the oracles of God.
2. With all authority, Tit. 2:15.
3. With boldness, Acts 4:31.
II. What are we to speak?
1. The oracles of God.
2. The Word, 2 Tim. 4:2.
3. Word of God, Rom. 10:17.
4. The Faith, Jude 3.
5. The Gospel, Rom. 1:16.
III. May we add or subtract?
1. May not add or diminish, Deut. 4:2.
2. Adding makes us liars, Prov. 30:5-6; Rev. 21:8.
3. Must teach all the counsel of God, Acts 20:27.
IV. “As the oracles of God” a Restoration Principle
1. Obeyed, denominationalism dies.
2. Obeyed, there is unity.
3. This doctrine brought us to where we are today.
4. Disobeyed, we will sink into obscurity and extinguish our light in the world.
5. If the church of earth were to be extinguished in our generation and 10,000 years were to pass and all that was left was a Bible and an honest heart, the rallying cry that would restore the one true church would be, “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God.
Conclusion:
1. The only way to heaven is to obey the oracles of God.
2. The only true way to worship God is to obey the oracles of God.
3. The only true way to live our lives is in the oracles of God.
4. Speak as the oracles of God.
