OBJECTIVE: That we accept our personal responsibility to God.
INTRODUCTION:
1. Read: Ezekiel 18:1-4 and 19-24, especially verse 20.
2. Regarding these verses:
1) There are problems in the human family.
2) There are personal problems.
3) It is the normal human reaction, to any problem, to blame some one else.
4) Eve blamed the serpent, Genesis 3:13.
5) Adam blamed God, through Eve, Genesis 3:12.
6) Israel was taken into captivity, because Israel had sinned, but Israel tried to blame “the fathers.”
7) God makes this point, which is eternal, unchanging truth, that each individual is personally responsible for his/her situation before God.
8) No one ever bears the responsibility, guilt or righteousness of another, “the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”
