Satanic Principles
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles Tags: Bible Lessons on SatanThe following above titled article penned by an unknown author in The Sword and Staff publication, Volume 48, Number 3, 2010 issue, lists some things that Satan would have us believe today as implied in his conversation with Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-6). I have added my commentary and relative Scriptures under each of the following satanic principles in italics:
Satan’s temptation of Eve serves as a paradigm for all subsequent methods of temptation. If Christians are familiar with Satan’s philosophy, they will be able to recognize the voice of Satan as he speaks through his children throughout history.
1) The Bible is full of lies. It is myth and legend. It is not God’s inspired-infallible revelation to man. Rather, it is an unreliable, uninspired, inaccurate, sub-historical record of the evolution of the people of Israel.
The above claim that the Bible is full of lies and that it is not God’s inspired-infallible revelation to man is fallacious (cf. John 17:17; Gal. 1:11-12; 2 Timothy 3:16).
2) The Word of God is vague, unclear and ambiguous. Therefore, no one can really know and understand what God has said. Everyone has their own personal, subjective opinion regarding the Bible’s teaching; therefore, no one really knows the truth.
The Old Testament prophet, Habakkuk, states that the Word of God is plain (Habakkuk 2:2). Paul tells us that it is understandable (Ephesians 3:1-4; Ephesians 5:8-17).
3) The God of the Bible and the Bible itself is evil. God’s laws are unfair, unjust, harsh and mean. The Bible is anti-environmental, racist, sexist, homophobic, and anti-egalitarian and so on.
Again, the prophet Habakkuk states that God cannot look upon evil (Habakkuk 1:13), thus the Bible is not evil, but its laws and precepts are for man’s good (Deuteronomy 6:24-25; Deuteronomy 6:9-15).
4) Man can only achieve truth, wisdom and knowledge by forsaking God’s Word and discovering truth autonomously. Beelzebub 6:16 says, “Lean not upon the Lord God and His Word, but trust in yourself with all of your heart.”
John 17:17 refutes the first premise listed above. We discover God’s truth through a study of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV; cf. Romans 10:17).
5) Freedom and blessing comes through casting off God’s law-Word. Breaking God’s law leads to great blessings and rewards. Regeneration flows from chaos. Salvation and peace is attained through lawlessness.
Freedom and blessing comes through obedience to God’s word (Romans 6:17). Breaking God’s law and not repenting of our sins leads to spiritual death (Romans 6:23). Salvation and peace is attained through obedience (Matthew 7:21; Romans 5:1).
6) The path to power and success, is not through humble submission to God and His Word. It is only attained by creating your own law. You must become your own god and determine for yourself what is good and evil, right and wrong. Sin-mantra 3:36 says, “I did it my way.”
Success is determined by man’s faithful adherence and obedience to God’s Word (Joshua 1:1-8). Man becoming his own god, is anathema to God (Genesis 3).
7) Man’s problem is not ethical but metaphysical. Man should not try to obey God, but to become God. There is no creator-creature distinction. Everything is on the same scale of being. Get off your rear end and move up the scale.
There is indeed a Creator-creature distinction (Ezekiel 28:1-10). God is God and man is man (Psalms 8:4-9; cf. Romans 3:9-10,23).
8) Man deserves godhood, blessings, power, enlightenment and salvation by right and not by grace. Don’t ask for mercy – take what is yours! (The Biblical doctrine that says the sovereign God gives grace and salvation, is anathema to Satan and his followers. Satan is the father of entitlements).
Man deserves eternal separation from God (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; cf. Isaiah 59:1-2). Satan’s entitlements are of a temporary nature (Hebrews 11:24-25).
9) Sin and rebellion against God does not lead to judgment either in history or the hereafter. “Don’t deprive yourself of the “fun” things in life because of the stupid, fictional, outmoded concept of judgment and hell.” (Satan was the first universalist. His slogans are popular with the youth culture today: Don’t fear the reaper, no fear, if it feels good to do it, sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, etc.).
The inspired writer Paul states that we will “all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10). Not fearing God is a foolish thing (Hebrews 10:30-31).
Believers who have a knowledge of Satan’s worldview should not be surprised to find that Satan’s children reflect his doctrine in their thinking, speech and life. Christians are to reject all such satanic thinking and are to think God’s thoughts after Him (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
Biblical doctrine should be the foundation of all our thinking, speaking and behavior (1 Peter 4:11; Ephesians 4:17-32; Philippians 4:8-9), “For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light” (Psalms 36:9).
