Monitoring Our Communication
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesThe Bible recognizes that our communication needs to be monitored with great care. For example, Paul urges us to, “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one” (Colossians 4:6).
James cautions us regarding our tongue:
“No man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison” (James 3:8).
We must learn to guard our mouth (Proverbs 13:3; cf. Psalm 39:1; Proverbs 21:23). One way to do this, is to make David’s prayer in Psalm 19:14 our daily prayer:
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”
Let’s think about it!
