Is This Individual's Baptism Valid?
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles Tags: Bulletin Articles on BaptismA querist asks, “If a young individual attends an instrumental church of Christ, hears The Gospel, responds, and is baptized for the remission of sins, then upon studying the Scriptures, sees the error of using instruments in worship and leaves to attend a non-instrumental church of Christ, is this individual’s baptism valid? Have they been added to the Lord’s church, or should they be re-baptized?
According to Acts 2:38 and Acts 2:47, the individual’s baptism would be valid and he or she would have been added to the Lord’s spiritual body [the church – Ephesians 1:22-23].
If the congregation where this individual attends is in violation of God’s word, God will render proper judgment upon that congregation (cf. Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22).
