God's Navigational System
Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin ArticlesIn the book of Isaiah, we read of the nation of Israel badly needing a reliable Global Positioning System (GPS) so they would know which direction they were going (cf. Isaiah 1:1-15). God wanted to be their GPS, but despite His warning, they decided to align themselves with Egypt (Isaiah 30:1-2).
Through His grace, God promised them that He would one day be their spiritual navigator.
He told them:
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’ Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21).
Today, Christians have an internal navigational system in the form of the Holy Spirit‘s teachings — the Bible. It will “guide [us] into all truth” (John 16:13; John 17:17; cf. Ephesians 3:1-6).
Brethren and friends, if we ever need direction as to where to set the course of our life, let’s not rely on our own navigational system, but totally rely on God’s navigational system. He knows where we are at all times (Psalm 139:7-12).
His navigational system will always lead us in the right direction (Proverbs 3:5-6).
