INTRODUCTION:
1. I have, many times, found myself on the road in icy conditions. One can improve on ice and slush. Made it through icy conditions several times.
2. The road is deceitful, and the forces of nature unforgiving. Few things worse than feeling out of control.
3. We may take comfort in the fact that the Lord is in control.
1) He is never surprised.
2) He is never unprepared.
3) He is never overcome.
4) He is never waylaid.

I. When Wars Rage (or the wicked cause great harm)
1. God rules in the kingdoms of men. Daniel 4:32-37
2. Even wicked rulers may be doing God’s bidding. Isaiah 10:5-15
3. He may move the mightiest nation on earth to move a couple a few miles. Luke 2:1-7; Matthew 2:1-6
II. When The Wolf Is At The Door
1. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Psalm 50:10
2. He never forsakes the righteous. Psalm 37:25; Matthew 6:33.
III. When Your Neighbor Gets The Best Of You
1. Consider David.
1) Hounded for years by his father-in-law, Saul.
2) He has done no wrong against him.
3) Yet in the end, Saul lay dead and David becomes king.

IV. When The Devil Has Won The World Over To Sin. He has a plan.

2. So eternal life is through Christ. Romans 6:23
3. The Gospel is God’s power. Romans 1:16
4. That power is effective. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
5. The remission of sins. Matthew 26:28; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16
