What is the reward of 1 Cor. 3:10-15?

Categories: Bible Questions and Answers

What is the reward that is considered in 1 Corinthians 3:10-15?

The reward of 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 are people who are eternally saved. The metaphor that Paul uses is the church as God’s building (vs. 9). The church is made up of people. It is the people who are the building materials (Compare 1 Peter 2:4, 5). Some people are simply wood, hay, and stubble. They will not survive the trial of fire. Others, however, are made of things that will survive trial by fire. Those who are faithful will ultimately be in heaven and they will be the reward of those who have labored to have them be part of the church and saved (Philippians 4:1, 1 Thessalonians 2:19). It will be a wonderful reward in heaven to know that there are those there who we influenced for good.
