The Words We Say….

The following poem by an unknown author illustrates the point that the words which come out of our mouth are indeed powerful and do make a difference, either negatively or positively, effecting not only ourselves, but those folks with whom we come in contact with every day.
I’m reminded of what our Lord stated in Matthew 12:36-37: “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
A careless word may kindle strife;
A cruel word may wreck a life;
A bitter word may hate instill;
A brutal word may smite and kill;
A gracious word may smooth the way;
A joyous word may light the way;
A timely word may lessen stress;
A loving word may heal and bless.
