Spiritual Worship

Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles Tags:

We worship thee today, oh Lord, before Thy throne we come.
We seek what pleases thee, dear Lord, and not to serve our own.
We worship as Thou wilt, oh Lord, not through our own devices.
With faith within Thy word, oh Lord, we bring our lives devoted.

We bow, we sing, we give, we hear, we honor Thy Son truly.
These simple, caring, loving acts of worship are Thine only.
Diverge from Thy true righteousness and lose ourselves we would,
For in our own self righteousness we are as filthy rags.

We come in spirit with our minds and souls upon Thee focused.
We come in truth; our hands and hearts upon Thy word are molded.
E’en though these ways are Thine, in us, the creature, they are earthy.
We humbly ask, “receive our off’ring; we who are unworthy.”

Until one day when we at last can praise Thee in Thy glory,
We’ll humbly pass our hours away submitting to Thee truly.
We’ll praise Thee in the ways you have within thy word unfolded
And keep Thy blessed covenant, through all our lives, unbroken.
