Introduction: Col. 3:23

1. Do you ever give up or lose heart on things because you see or hear of someone else doing “great” things?

2. We sometimes measure ourselves by the attainments or goals of others.

3. Just because we hear of something great does not mean God thinks it is great.

4. The Parable of the Talents (Matt. 25:14-30) assures us that we are responsible for what God has provided, no more, no less.

5. Shall we complain that what we’ve been entrusted with is so little?

Discussion: Do it heartily

I.   Like the widow who gave, Mark 12:42-44.

II.  Like the woman who anointed Jesus, Mark 14:1-9.

III. Like Zechariah, the son of Jehoiada, 2 Chr. 24:20-22.

IV.  Like Onesiphorus, 2 Tim. 1:16-18.

Conclusion:

1. One of the rarest traits found is faithfulness. Faithfulness in being a: husband, wife, Bible class teacher, elder, deacon, mother, father, friend.

2. God calls us to greatness in the ordinary. Do it heartily.
