Pure From Other Men’s Blood

Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles

One’s own personal and individual accountability before God is indeed a weighty matter to consider, and even if other men did not enter the picture, the subject would be serious enough. But, influence being what it is, our relationships with others, and our living before others, means that our responsibility is greater. We dare not be a stumblingblock before other men (1 Corinthians 8:9). But more – We are charged with using our time here in teaching others the truth; we can teach in manner of life, but we are likewise obligated to use teaching opportunities wherein the principles of the Word are explained to men. The Great Commission puts us into that work (Mark 16:15-16). Then, we have even great responsibilities!

Paul’s statement, concerning himself, was that he was “pure from the blood of all men” (Acts 20:26). May we so labor that when our time is ended here we can say the same!
