Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles

In the 2008, volume 46, number 3 edition of The Sword and Staff publication, comes the following proverbs of wisdom (appropriate Scriptures and related articles have been added):

  • Your future is bright if you are walking in the light (1 John 1:7).
  • Life by the yard is hard, but by the foot and the inch, it becomes a cinch (so, live one day at a time, Matthew 6:34).
  • Interesting people are people who are interested (interested in things, people, happenings, etc.).
  • For a life that has been well-lived, dying is like saying “amen” at the end of a beautiful prayer (Revelation 14:13).
  • A generous and liberal person finds that he is treated accordingly (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2; cf. Proverbs 19:17; Matthew 10:42).
  • A heart warmed by the gospel of Christ will never be cold and indifferent toward others (1 Thessalonians 1).
  • Be kind for kindness begets kindness (each kind after its kind).
  • By having second thoughts, many times we can be saved from the folly of the first ones (Matthew 21:28-32).
  • Carrying a grudge is a heavy load.
