A Life of Significance

Categories: Funeral Sermon Outlines, Sermon Outlines

1. Women are told, “You need to get a DEGREE, POSITION, FAME to be significant.”

1) I don’t know if Dorothy ever had those things.

2) They weren’t what made her significant.

2. Women are told to SEE WHAT YOU CAN GET. More money, more power, more fame.

3. Dorothy lived life to SEE WHAT SHE COULD GIVE. She believed what Jesus said, Luke 6:38. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

1) Tabitha, Acts 9:36ff.

2) Ointment on head, Mark 14:3-9. On feet, Luke 7:37ff.

3) Many women ministered to Jesus, Matt. 27:55.

4) Dorothy ministered to Jesus, Matt. 25:40.

4. Rev. 14:13; 1 Cor. 15:51-57; John 14:1-6; John 11:14-44; 1 Thess. 4:16-18

5. If you want a LIFE OF SIGNIFICANCE don’t go to a self-help motivational guru, think about Dorothy’s life and read your Bible.
