Genesis 10

Categories: Bible Study Lessons

Moses gives the broad view of the people of the post-flood earth. This is introductory and essential to the understanding of the next chapters as Abraham is introduced. In Genesis 3:15 we read:

Genesis 3:15 [ESV] I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

The Messianic thread begins at this point, continues through Noah and will continue through Abraham. To get to Abraham we need to see that his family was singled out of all the descendants of Noah. The Messianic thread will then continue until we get to Christ.

Moses makes it clear that all mankind comes from Noah. He explains, in these few sentences, the origin of all the nations with which Israel would have to deal.
