“Did You Read My Book?”

Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles

In working in our local school district libraries, all I mostly see is books, books, and more books! Our libraries have hardcover books, paperback books, reference books, joke books, novels and mysteries. They also have self-help books and religious books.

Man just keeps on writing books, doesn’t he? No wonder Solomon said, “Of making many books there is no end” (Ecclesiastes 12:12).

But there’s one Book that supersedes all the others — God’s Book, the Bible. It is written by authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit and kept from error (2 Peter 1:16-21; 2 Timothy 3:16).

Contained in this Book, is God’s instruction manual telling us what to believe and how to live successfully according to His plan and not ours.

Just like in school, this Book should be required reading for everyone!

If we are a writer of books, we will not say to God on Judgment Day, “Did You read my book?” Rather, God will say to us, “Did you read My Book?”

How about it? Have you read His Book today?
