Chastening Versus Trials

The chastening of the Lord is for our “profit” (KJV) or “good” (ESV) (Hebrews 12:10 – ESV) while the the devil’s ultimate purpose is to “devour” or destroy us (1 Peter 5:8 – NKJV)).
