What About Our Conversion?

A mistake relative to the security of our soul is too costly. Hence, we ask, “Was our conversion according to the Scriptures?”
How may one know? It is not enough to be told, “Accept Jesus as your personal Savior.” This statement is too vague.
How do we give ourselves to Jesus? There is a way we can be certain we have been saved. The purpose of the book of Acts is to set out a number of conversions which occurred in the first century under God-directed preachers, as models and examples for our imitation in the twenty-first century. With these thoughts in mind, here is a chart showing (by Scripture), how men and women rendered obedience to the Lord.
Conditions Of Salvation
If we have met the conditions of salvation as outlined in the book of Acts, and illustrated in the chart, our conversion is genuine; if not, regardless of our sincerity, we have not been saved according to the inspired teaching of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Additionally, we are also taught that we must live a faithful Christian life (even in the face of death), if we are to finally be taken to heaven (Revelation 2:10; Revelation 21:1-27; Revelation 22:1-5).
Becoming A Christian
The Christian life is the best life one can experience while here on earth. Only “in Christ” can all spiritual blessings be found (Ephesians 1:3). One can only get “in Christ” by being “baptized into Christ” (Gal. 3:27) and “into his death,” where He shed His blood (Romans 6:3; John 19:33-34), thus becoming a “new creature” (creation) “in Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:17; Gal. 6:15 ESV).
As members of the Lord’s saved body, the church (Ephesians 5:30; Ephesians 5:23), we urge you to make your decision “now” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Become a New Testament Christian as evidenced in the chart provided, live a faithful Christian life (Revelation 2:10), die a Christian’s death (Revelation 14:12-13), and finally go home to a Christian’s “incorruptible inheritance” (1 Peter 1:4).
Conclusion:
In this short article, we have sought to hold up Christ as the Savior of the world (John 3:16-17; 1 John 4:14).
