Something To Think About

Categories: Church of Christ Bulletin Articles Tags:

The following are some things we need to think about relative to our service to God and to our fellow man (Matthew 22:36-40; cf. Romans 12:1-2; Romans 13:9; Gal. 5:14; James 2:8):

  • What if God hadn’t sent His only begotten Son because He wanted “us” to pay the price for our sin? (Romans 5:6; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:19; Ephesians 2:12).
  • What if God would not listen to our prayers today because we would not listen to His call? (Isaiah 59:2; John 9:31; 2 Thessalonians 2:14).
  • What if we never heard another soul-stirring sermon because we were tired of listening to those “long“ forty-five minute sermons?
  • What if we never heard another invitation to make our life right with the Lord? (Revelation 22:17; cf. John 7:37).
  • What if God decided to stop leading us in paths of righteousness? (Psalm 23:3).
  • What if God took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today? (Ephesians 3:1-4; cf. John 6:68; Acts 5:20).
  • What if God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service? (Gal. 5:13).
  • What if the door of the church was closed because we didn’t open the door to our hearts? (Revelation 3:20).
  • What if God stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others? (Matthew 25).
  • What if God took away the necessities of life as well as our oxygen supply because of an attitude of self-sufficiency? (Acts 14:17; Acts 17:25; Revelation 3:14-17).
