Can a homosexual be saved?

Categories: Bible Questions and Answers

The Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin according to several New Testament passages such as Romans 1:26-32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9. In that regard, homosexuality is no different from any other sin. If one lives a life of sin then one cannot expect to be saved as the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23). It is only when one repents of sin and is converted that one may come into a state of salvation (Acts 3:19). This requires one to be baptized to be forgiven of sin (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-11, Colossians 2:11-13). In that regard, a person who has lived the life of a homosexual, but has repented and stopped living that life, may be saved (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). However, if one is living the life of a homosexual and is unrepentant of such a life, then eternal death is the only reward that he can expect from God (Revelation 21:8). So, if you are a homosexual, you need to repent and turn to God before it is too late.
